Introduction

Mr. Li has obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the China University of Political Science and Law, a Master of Laws degree from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences as well as a Bachelor of Laws degree in Common Law and a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from the University of Hong Kong.

Mr. Li was assigned to work in the Hong Kong branch of Xinhua News Agency and subsequently attended the School of Law of the University of Hong Kong. Mr. Li is the first PRC lawyer to receive a Hong Kong law degree and qualified to practise law in Hong Kong. He is also the first PRC lawyer to found a law firm in Hong Kong. In February 2006, Mr. Li passed the New York Bar Examination and further obtained the qualification to practise law in the state of New York in October 2006. Mr. Li is the first lawyer who is qualified to practise law in the PRC, Hong Kong, England and Wales and New York State of the United States.

Mr. Li had worked in two large scale international law firms in Hong Kong, namely Simmons and Simmons and Kwok & Yih (now part of King & Wood Mallesons), and had participated in various listing projects including Beijing Datang Power Generations Co., Ltd, Chengdu Telecommunications Cable Co., Ltd, Jingwei Textile Machinery Co., Ltd, Guangshen Railway Co., Ltd, First Tractor Co., Ltd, China Aviation Technology International Corporation, Nanjing Postel Telecommunications Co., Ltd, Shandong Chenming Paper Holdings Limited and Coslight Technology International Group Ltd.

Mr. Li has been one of the major participants in a number of pioneering transactions, among a very long list of others, which are renowned in the capital market in Hong Kong, including the listing of China Agrotech Holdings Ltd which is the first company listed on the GEM board, the listing of Syscan Technology Holdings Ltd which is the first U.S. Silicon Valley technology company listed on the GEM board, the listing of Tianjin Capital Environmental Protection Co., Ltd which involved simultaneous acquisition of Hong Kong A-shares and Shanghai H-shares, re-listing as well as substantial assets swap, the listing of China Communications Construction Company Limited where Mr. Li resolved several intricate cross-border legal problems highly concerned by sponsors and other relevant parties, and the listing of Shandong Chenming Paper Holdings Limited which has become the only company in the world having listed A-shares, B-shares and H-shares.

In addition, Mr. Li is a China Appointed Attesting Officer. He was chosen as a leading individual by the "Who's Who in Hong Kong – of the Law" as early as 1997.
